Hello everyone I hope you're all keeping safe and well.

New Club Members

Please join me in extending a very warm RPAC welcome to Megan Rebuck and Louise Bressler who have recently joined the junior section of the club and to Neil Fenwick who has recently joined the senior section.  Welcome to you all!

Resumption of training

We are now able to resume coached training sessions this week under the same rules that applied before the lockdown.

The schedule was published in last week's newsletter and you should have received an email with details of which groups you are in.

New Discount with Sportsshoes.com

We have a new deal from Sportsshoes.com which will give club members 10% discount off advertised prices plus free delivery on all orders over £30. This will operate via a monthly discount code which we will include in the email version of this newsletter. The continuance of this deal depends on us not sharing this discount code anywhere where it could be accessed by someone who is not a club member, so please can I ask you to respect this.

RPAC Athletes Back In Action

It was a busy weekend for some of the senior runners. Full details can be found here.

Saturday saw Frank O'Regan record a new PB in the Run Through Clapham Common 10K despite the very twisty course - well done Frank!  Also running on Saturday were Malcolm and Ginevra who took part in the Dorney Lake 5K . Malcolm continued his comeback and I think Ginevra was just warming up for her Sunday race. On Sunday Ginevra joined Mike Pocock and Kate Knight for the Running Grand Prix marathon at Goodwood Motor Circuit. They were joined by Eloise Bull and George and Freddie Roux who took part in the 10k, and by Ian Burks who completed the half marathon.  Eloise recorded a PB in the 10K - well done Eloise!.  The biggest plaudits belong to Mike who recorded the UK's fastest V65 marathon time this year - really well done Mike! Kate should also get a special mention for completing her 68th Marathon. Well done to all of you!

Turkey Trot Sunday 20th December

Ian Edmonds is planning a socially distanced Christmas themed Turkey Trot starting from Priory Park on Sunday 20th December at 9 a.m. This will be a trail of approximately 10K length. More details should be available in next week's newsletter.

Priory Relays January 16th / 17th 2021

We are hoping to reorganise the Priory Relays 2020 for the weekend of January 16th/17th January 2021. Please keep the weekend free if at all possible, as we will be asking for volunteers to assist very soon.

Calling all Santas - Sign Up for the YMCA Virtual Santa Run

Our friends at the YMCA have suffered from a lack of fundraising opportunities this year as you would expect. Please help support them by signing up for their virtual Santa Run which can be completed at any time between the 1st and 31st of December. Details are shown here and you can enter here.

New Items of Club Kit

There have been a couple of recent additions to the iProSports Club Zone including some hi-viz tops and a reflective jacket that look just the ticket for Winter runs.

Fly5K

Adrian Grant was the sole RPAC participant in Fly5K this week (and I think I'm right in saying only the second RPAC participant ever). Don't forget that if you want to take part all you have to do is record a run between 08:00 and 12:00 noon on Saturday and post the results on the Fly 5K Facebook group before 13:00. Full details are here. Adrian says that he would have recorded a quicker time but it was muddy and he was chatting, but I suspect the loss of his Movember moustache had something to do with it.

Keep in touch

It's more important than ever that we keep in touch with each other at this time. Stay safe everybody. Please let us know if there is anything you'd like to see in the newsletter.
