Club Championships

The club championships award our best runners in each category and race distance. The year runs from the December of the previous year to the middle of November (according to the date of the Annual Awards evening - a key date in the club's social calendar). The races are shown in the list on the right (club championships), except for the Marathon which is for any recognised marathon in the world.

To be eligible to win a trophy you must:

  • be a fully paid up member 
  • enter as a member of Reigate Priory AC
  • run under your own name wearing the race number specifically allocated to you
  • wear club colours, either the standard RPAC running vest or long or short sleeved derivative (not mandatory for marathon championship, see note below)

All trophies are engraved at the expense of the club and are presented at the annual Awards Evening.

It will be noted that the first male and female to cross the finish line complying with these rules is designated the Club Champion regardless of age. Thereafter, the next male 40-49 / male 50-59 / male 60+ / female 35-44 / female 45-54 / female 55+ to finish is designated the appropriate Veteran Champion.

Each of the champions receives a personal memento for their permanent retention plus a trophy which they hold for a year.

Marathon championship

A trophy is awarded to the fastest man and lady (irrespective of age) in any marathon, home or overseas, in the 12 months upto and including the New York marathon in November. It is not compulsory to wear the club vest in a marathon in recognition the runner may be running for a charity and wearing their vest. The 2 champions receive a personal memento for their permanent retention plus a trophy which they hold for a year.

The Andy Winterton Memorial Trophy

A trophy, in memory of our late member Andy Winterton, will be awarded to the fastet age-graded marathon by a member of the Club, irrspective of gender. The period of eligibility wil be the 12 months up to and including the New York Marathon in November.
