Summer Evening 10k by Moray Carey, Acting Race Director
It’s only just over 3 weeks until we host the Summer Evening 10k on Wed 6th July!
Currently we have fewer than 100 entries and we need to dramatically increase this number to make this flagship event financially viable.
Way of helping to achieve this include:
- Asking in places where you may have connections or contacts to display the A5 race flyer (available on request from
)
- sports’ clubs (both athletic and other)
- fitness groups
- sports’ shops
- works and community notice boards
2. Sharing any posts about the race posted on the club’s Facebook page (or creating your own)
Thanks in advance!

Wednesday 6th July Volunteers Are Still Needed for Reigate Priory AC's Summer Evening 10K
Thank you to everyone who has responded so far to the call for volunteers for this year's Summer 10k. Following the email sent at the weekend, we’re almost done with filling the slots but we still need more assistance to be able to host a safe event for all.
As well as marshals on course, we still need volunteers in all of the following roles:
- Break-down of the course.
- Post race sign removal (car required)
- Drivers to return kit to Battlebridge (car required)
We still need a few people to assist in the set up of the course on 6th July from 2pm (Battlebridge) or 3pm (Priory Park) so if you can assist with either of those, please respond as such via the link below.
If you wish to run in the race and be cheered on by your fellow club members, friends and/or family en-route, we ask that you to volunteer in some way before or after the race. Alternatively, you can provide a volunteer (or two!) to assist while you're donning your red vest around the streets of Reigate.
If you are available to help in any capacity please register via this link. There are a number of roles listed and an area where you can state your preference, should you have one.
Thank you in advance for all your help which makes this event a great success..

Dorking Tens Sunday 12th June
Some 35 RPAC athletes took part in the two Dorking Tens races yesterday and despite some serious issues with timekeeping we produced some great results and took home a clutch of Surrey County Championship medals. You can read more (and see some pics ) here.
Sunday 19th June 10:00AM MABAC @ Holmwood Common
This is our chance to regain second place spot in the league, but we can only do this if we get a good turnout.
At Farnham we lost out to Blackwater Valley because they had twice as many runners as we did. We particularly need more of the ladies to run.
As far as I can tell there are no conflicting local races so why not come and turnout for us?
Meet at Bell St Car Park at 09:00 for lifts and car sharing. Please let me know if you need a lift or are willing to drive others
Southern Athletics League Sunday 12th June
I know that Match 2 took place yesterday, but I have not seen any results from it as yet. I suspect many people will have participated at Dorking instead
Match 3 will take place on Saturday 16th July at K2 Crawley and Match 4 on Saturday 13th August at Hastings.
Please respond to us (the SAL Team Managers, Jo Davey and Ginevra Stoneley) if you would like to compete or if you have any questions .
