Terms & Conditions

An entrant shall be deemed to have made him/herself/their self, familiar with, and agreed to be bound by the UKA Anti-Doping Rules and to submit to the authority of UK Anti-Doping in the application and enforcement of the Anti-Doping Rules.

The UKA Anti-Doping Rules apply to entrants participating in the sport of Athletics, for 12 months from the [date of entry], whether or not the licence holder is a citizen of, or resident in, the UK.

Refunds

Regrettably, in common with other races, no refund can be made to any entrant who withdraws through injury, illness, lack of training, change of plan or for whatever reason.

Transfers

A race place allocated to a pre-registered entrant may be transferred to a non-registered runner upto 3 days before race day on payment of a £5 administration charge.

Cancellation

The organisers reserve the right to cancel the race in circumstances beyond our control, for instance if adverse weather (or the threat of adverse weather) should make conditions too dangerous for competitors or a serious incident occurs, which prevents the race going ahead. In such, or other circumstances, after the deduction of costs incurred, all residual proceeds will be donated to local charities chosen by the organising clubs.

Headphones & similar devices

This is not a closed road event. Consequently the use of headphones of any type (including bone conduction) during the race is banned for safety reasons. Anyone observed breaking this rule will be disqualified. It is your responsibility to follow instructions from the Marshals and race officials and not to put yourself, fellow runners and other road users at risk.

Course Suitability

Due to the nature of the course, on narrow, country roads open to traffic, participants may not run either pushing buggies, or with children under the minimum age for the event, or with dogs, neither may they be accompanied by cyclists - any or all of which the organisers, in their reasonable opinion, deem may cause danger or risk of danger to them or other participants or spectators.

Regrettably the event is therefore considered unsuitable for wheelchair athletes.

Time Limit

Time limits are needed for the comfort, health and safety of entrants, Marshals and other personnel involved. All entrants should reasonably expect to complete the 5k course within 60 minutes which equates to a pace of 12 minutes per kilometre. Chip timing will cease 60 minutes after the start of the race and dismantling of the Finish area will then commence.
