In perfect athletics weather at the latest Crawley Open Meeting, Dan Statham cleared 1m 65 in the High Jump to equal the U17 boys club record! Needless to say, a new PB for Dan. There was another good jump, in the U15 boys, by Rudi Haylock who cleared 1m 55. Both boys also produced good long jumps and Rudi, competing in his first meeting for RPAC, also ran in the 100m clocking 13.29.
Lily Grant was in good form competing in her first track event of the season coming home in a speedy 48.39 in the U17W's hurdles.
Oscar Curry, in his first U15B 800m of the season, came home in 1st place and secured a massive PB in the process with a time of 2.16.66. Amelia South was another athlete at her first meeting and ran well in the U15G'S 800m.
Three U13 boys had their first taste of the 1500m and all performed well. Outstanding was Samuel Stapley who came in 1st in a quick time of 5.01.54! With 14 in the race Sam Rolaston finished a very creditable 4th also with a quick time and Will John-Cox ran a consistent race finishing strongly.
Max Orchard had his first track outing of the season winning the U11 600m comfortably in 1.57.28 just outside his PB.
Max and Oscar on their way to 1st place finishes. Sam, Samuel and Will after their first 1500's:
