RPAC GRAND PRIX 2024

After a previous hiatus and then covid disruption we've managed two consecutive years of the Grand Prix races!
Promotions and relegations from the 2023 results have been applied for the start of the 2024 competition.

Here is a reminder of the rules:

  • The Grand Prix covers a number of races of widely varying distances.
  • The upcoming races are shown at the right of this page and on the Calendar, along with how points are determined within each race.
  • All seniors are assigned to one of five groups, based on previous performances. (Note the table below only shows the athletes who have completed a Grand Prix race this season or were promoted/relegated. If you would like to know your group please contact the club.)
  • The overall results, per group, will be determined from each runner's best five results.
    • For winners, promotion and relegation, ties in the final total will be decided on head-to-head performances, then if still tied, average age grading (using WMA age-grading calculator with factors 2006/2010).
  • The top two finishers from groups 2-5 win promotion, the bottom two from groups 1-4 are relegated.

Good luck!

RPAC GRAND PRIX 2022

After the pandemic caused the 2020 edition to be abandoned after just one race and 2021 skipped altogether, the Grand Prix is back, again!

  • The Grand Prix covers a number of races of widely varying distances.
  • The upcoming races are shown at the right of this page and on the Calendar, along with how points are determined within each race.
  • All seniors are assigned to one of five groups, based on previous performances. (Note the table below only shows the athletes who have completed a Grand Prix race this season.
  • Note: Due to the hiatus since 2018 it's been decided not to apply the usual promotion/relegation with respect to the groups from that year, though some runners have been moved up due to significant performance improvements.

Good luck!
