I hope that this newsletter finds you and your families all keeping fit and well.

Return To Coached Training

A limited return to coached training commenced last Tuesday.  Please see the notice board article for more details and also refer to the separate emails that were sent out. Please make sure that you observe the signs at Battlebridge to avoid breaching social distancing regulations. As this week looks like being very warm please ensure that you take a water bottle with you if you are attending training.

Taster Sessions

Ellis is running some taster sessions for you to try javelin and/or hurdles. Please see the notice board article for more details.

Virtual Competitions

The current competition is a 5x1 mile handicap relay - this was Week 1 of 4

Handicaps for the teams were calculated based on the previous 5x1 mile relay competition as follows

Team 1 07:04
Team 2 05:16
Team 3 05:19
Team 4 03:24
Team 5 04:18
Team 6 04:11
Team 7 02:34
Team 8 00:00 - team 8 is a new team comprised of Ian Martin, Ian Stammars and some "mystery guests"

This week's competition didn't go as well as I'd hoped as many people were unable to run for a number of reasons so I had to use a bit of artistic licence to come up with the results. The results are as follows

Team 5 37:29, Team 7 39:46, Team 1 39:52, Team 8 40:10, Team 3 40:53, Team 2 40:59, Team 6 41:29 and Team 4 42:30.

Handicaps will be adjusted accordingly for next week.

The fastest overall mile was recorded by George Roux (5:03) with Jamilla Ncayiyana recording fastest time for the ladies (6:11) and Max Orchard the fastest time for the juniors (5:54). Well done all of you.

Ian Martin must be given a special mention for recording his fastest time for a number of years with 7:42. Adrian Grant recorded yet another PB with 8:05.

Well done to everyone. If you are not competing and would like to please let me know
