Congratulations to all that made the journey up the big smoke to compete at the Masters league at Wimbledon last Monday 13th. Almost everyone filled in on an extra event to help score additional points which made a big difference to the club scores, with the Ladies coming 3rd overall on the night, with the Gents coming 5th out of 9 clubs competing.

Even this early in the season, there were some great performances and many updated or improved cub records. Full results of this fixture can be seen here and photos can be seen here. Going to be the recorded records on the website, the following records were broken or new records set were as below.

Maxine Voutilainen 100m W40 16.8s
Ginevra Stoneley 100m W45 16.7s
Andrew Patrick 100m M60 17.4s
Ginevra Stoneley 1500m  W45 5:16.8
Andrew Pringle 400m M60 66.4s
Andrew Pringle Hammer M60 20.19m
Ginevra Stoneley Long Jump W45 2.66 *
Ginevra Stoneley Shot W45 4.75 **

* improved over her W40 record.

** improved her PB and now 31st in UK.

Note that if we have missed a performance that could be a club record, please let us know at

Thanks for everyone who came out and for those that gave it a go in something new and I hope that we can get more coming to the next event (although that will mean bringing more cake I guess….)

There were several Ladies events with only one entrant so even taking part can get a second place and 8 points!

The next event is Monday 3rd June at Epsom Harriers centre, KT19 9RY.  I recognise this is after the Dorking 10s, but what a great way to ease these muscles off with a nice lie down on a High Jump mat, or if the legs are sore why not throw something! The fixtures and the disciplines available for each fixture can be seen on the Masters League page here.

I know some of you might be disappointed at me taking first dibs on the M60 Triple Jump, but despite your disappointment, I hope you can find something else on the list to compete in and have some fun doing it too.

Please let us know by end of Thursday 30th your event preference by emailing – although we can change on the day if needed.
