URGENT: Summer Evening 10k Volunteers

Thank you very much if you have already volunteered, but if you haven't had a chance yet - your club needs you! As the hosting club, it’s our responsibility to manage the race safely, but we’ll need many more volunteers to achieve this. We are in real need of marshals, people to staff race HQ, and helpers at the finish funnel so please sign up if you can.

If you can help, please complete this Google form specifying your availability and the job you’d like to do. Remember, there are a lot of tasks you can do either before or after the race and still run (such as set up or dismantle the course). Please contact if you have any questions.

Saturday 6th July Parkrun Tourism at Brighton & Hove

We will provide more information next week, but one for the calendar - the next parkrun tourism venue will be Brighton & Hove on Saturday 6th July. We would love to see you there.

Hoodie order ***deadline this Wednesday***

We will be placing an order for the very stylish and comfortable red-branded club hoodies on Wednesday 26th June. Hoodies can be ordered via LoveAdmin by selecting "Optional Extras". You can order with or without a name on the back and you can further personalise by having initials added on the front. Hoodies are available for both juniors and seniors.

Couch to 5K Programme starts 28th September

Our next Couch to 5K Programme starts on Saturday 28th September, with optional but recommended lead-in sessions on Saturday 14th September and Saturday 21st September. Participation is free for members, but if you know someone outside the club who might benefit from the programme, please let them know about it. The cost of the 12-week programme, including the optional sessions and parkrun graduation, is £17 all inclusive - an absolute bargain, but it gets even better: Graduates who go on to join our club will see that cost deducted from their joining fee. Of course, our main aim is to get people off the couch and running for health and welfare - joining our club is icing on the cake!

The full details of the programme can be seen here.

Send us your results, please!

If you participate in an event, email  to let us know your results. Please submit by Sunday evening at the latest to allow us to meet the deadline for the Surrey Mirror sports pages.

If you don't already, please follow us on Facebook and Instagram - we're growing, but we need all the support we can get!

Ebbisham Boys League Match 2 - Kingston Sunday 23rd June

Summer finally arrived in time for the second match in this year's Ebbisham boys league at Kingston on Sunday. RPAC had a team of seven athletes including three, Ralph Campbell, Lucas Nilsson and Seb Wilkins, all making their first appearance representing the Club. In near perfect conditions there were some strong performances and several PBs recorded At the time of writing the full results are not yet available. However, Rafi Varah recorded PBs in all three of his events, 800m/100m and long jump, including a long jump PB recorded within five minutes of finishing his 800m with the only jump he was allowed. Keagan Stricker-Timmermans also improved his 100m PB and showed his great range in winning the 200m and coming second in the 800m. James De'Ath recorded PBs in both the 100m and 1500m where he finished an impressive fourth. Lucas Nilsson and Ralph Campbell both did the sprint hurdles and 800m , recording strong times in both events. Lucas was second overall in the Hurdles across both divisions on the day. Piers Mathews similarly ran a good 800m and did well in the long jump. . Up-Coming Races

Cranleigh 7/14/21, 14 July

The MABAC's only fundraising race, the Cranleigh 7/14/21, is coming up on Sunday, 14th July, and it would be terrific to get a great turnout. The race itself is mostly flat, multi-terrain, and you can decide whether you want to run 7, 14, or 21 miles on the day. But more importantly, MABAC relies on profits raised from this to ensure that the league races are free to all member clubs. This year, it will be a championship race for the Association of Running Clubs, under whose jurisdiction all MABAC races are run, so there will be prizes!

You can see a full list of other races and events on our website here. Do get in touch with the appropriate league managers if you have any queries - see the Who's who page to find out the contact details. All of these events should be on our calendar.

Heritage Trail Series, Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens (by Moray Carey)

I recently participated in the Summer edition of the Heritage Trail Series which are routed through the panoramic grounds of Leonardslee, 240 acres of woodland gardens set within a steep valley.
The 5k/10k Series launched earlier this year and this was the second in the four-event programme, each one scheduled to take place there in a different season.
The undulating course starts at the highest level and there are many descents and ascents, some with extreme gradients! Despite the challenges, runners are rewarded with colourful, ever changing scenery, passing numerous lakes plus a diverse sculpture trail.
After the run, you’re free to explore - and enjoy - the gardens at a more leisurely pace! Accompanying spectators qualify for a reduced admission charge.
