Farnham Park MABAC

As we neared Farnham yesterday morning the clouds cleared and the sun came out to make this another MABAC race run in glorious weather in the beautiful Farnham Park. To the best of my recollection we have never had anything but blue skies and sunshine for this particular fixture. I have a selective memory for the frequency and severity of the hills on most of the MABAC courses so it's quite possible this extends to the weather conditions.

It was a small turnout from from RPAC with just 11 runners (and one spectator - me!), but crucially for us we had a full scoring complement of 5 men and 5 ladies. Even better news was that our men's team was bolstered by the presence of Euan Willis.

Despite Euan's protestations that he was going to take it easy after late night watching the Usyk vs Fury fight he flew round in 27:53, beating the  second placed runner (a BVR man) by over a minute.

Not to be outdone Ruth (Euan's Mum in case you don't know) was our first lady finisher, completing the course in 35:30 in 24th place overall and 3rd lady home.

Euan and Ruth were only separated by Paul Walters (not Hannah Williams as the draft results say!) who finished in 21st place (20th man) in 34:52.

The ladies team was completed by Lisa Ashley, Sharon Miller, Juliette Stern and Sam Grant. The men's team was completed by Chris Nixon (in his first outing in the club vest), Toby Kent, Andrew Pringle and Gareth Bowers.

Well done to all of you! And thank you so much for turning out, please encourage more people to come to the next race. A few pictures appear below...

Full results will be added to the results section when they are finalised. At the moment it looks like we finished as fourth team on the day and we retain sixth place in the league.

The next MABAC race is at Denbies at 7:30 on Tuesday 11th June
