Parkrun Tourism to Lancing Beach Green Saturday 11th May *** this Saturday ***

We are going to Lancing Beach Green parkrun on this Saturday 11th May where we will take part in the parkrun as well as visit Perch on Lancing Beach café for breakfast.

For Satnav use BN15 8RA. The A27 is closed on the east of Lancing, so we suggest going down the A24 from Dorking or Horsham, and approaching Lancing from the west. There is a car park directly next to start and finish, which costs £1 for two hours or £4 for all day. There is also free parking in surrounding side roads. We intend setting off from Reigate at 7:15AM to make sure of an 8:30AM arrival.

Brian Churchard, a previous club member, has moved to Lancing and will be running and breakfasting with us.

It'd be lovely to see you at Lancing. You can see full details of our parkrun tourism on this link. Get in touch with the RPAC Parkrun Tourism Managers if you have any queries - details on the Who's who page.

Lily B Girls Track and Field Match - Guildford

The first girls' Lily B track and field match of the season was held at Guildford on Saturday. The weather was kind to us, even hot at times, and it was great to have twenty six athletes from the Club competing.

There were a number of excellent performances. Rose Holmes in her first event for the Club came third in the 100m and fourth in both the 200m and Long Jump. Emma Aries was first overall in the U11 Long Jump and was RPAC's fastest U11 75m runner on the day. Just behind her in the 75m were Eleni Harvey and Lucy Pace.  Morgan Du Preez and Penelope Gargowitcz were the fastest of the RPAC runners in the U11 600m. Olivia Aries achieved PBs in both the 1500m and the High Jump with her height in the latter achieving a level 4 under the EA PB awards. Summer Snelgrove did very well in the discus finishing fifth overall across the two matches and achieving a distance that placed her fifth on the RPAC all time U15 list. Jessie Humber ran strongly in the 800m achieving a time of 2:45 that achieves a level 4 under the PB awards and Olive Barton did similarly in the U13 1500m with a time of 5:45. Olive also achieved a Level 4 in the U13 Long jump as did Leila Modarres and Maya Pocock. Florence Tombleson and Millie Mckay both ran impressively in the U15 800m whilst the U11 girls relay team of Morgan, Lucy, Penelope and Amira Jaffar combined very well to finish fourth in the U11 4 X 100m relay. There were also some very encouraging performances from Scarlett Maxwell, Miia Voutilainen, Toluwa Omotosho, Vhari Macgregor and Imogen Leung in their first athletics match for the Club. Thank you very much indeed to Ashley Burridge and Valerie Du Preez who were our officials on the day.

YMCA Fun Run - Sunday 5th of May

The event takes place in Priory Park, and includes adult 1 mile and 5 miles races, as well as junior races for various age categories. For this year's event the weather was kind, and it appeared to be a great success - everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

You can see the results for the seniors here, where you'll find that first in the 5 mile race was Steve Cheesman in a time of 31:11, followed by Rob Wigley (31:29) and 1st lady Eloise Bull (32:02).  Laura Ebbs was 1st FV40 (33:01), Alice Smith (running as an SLH) was 1st FV50 (37:11) and Annette Morris was 1st FV60 (43:33). Duncan Mallison was 2nd in the 1 mile race (6:14), and Gillian O'Regan came in 6th place and was 1st lady (7:09).
