Club News For Everyone

I hope that this newsletter finds you and your families all keeping fit and well.  It seems like a very long time since we able to run and compete together, hopefully the restrictions will ease in the not too distant future. At least the weather is being kind still.

Virtual Competitions

5x1 Mile Relay - This was Week 2 of 4

Team 1 was the fastest team again with a combined total time for the 5 miles of 33:11 - an improvement of 19 seconds from last week. Well done to Adrian Grant, Jas Dhanda, Euan Willis, Jamilla Ncayiyana and Duncan Mallison who make up that speedy team.

The finishing order was Team 1 (33:30), Team 2 (34:33), Team 3 (34:42), Team 4 (35:45), Team 5 (35:47), Team 7 (36:34), Team 6 (36:56). Team 5 showed the biggest improvement - over 2 minutes. Team 6 lost the most amount of time, largely because Julian Rowlands is nursing an injury and wasn't able to run at speed.

The fastest men were George Roux (5:09), Freddie Roux (5:40), Duncan Mallison (5:42) and bizarrely Tom Almond, Christian Froggatt and Adam Parkin all finished with 5:46. Stephen Smith and Adrian Grant both recorded their fastest miles with 6:13 and 8:13 respectively.

The 5 fastest ladies were Jamilla Ncayiyana (6:16), Ginevra Stoneley (6:25), Nat Wilson (6:33), Ruth Willis (6:55) and Gillian O'Regan (7:00)

The 5 fastest junior runners were Max Orchard (5:55), Will John-Cox (6:00), Euan Willis(6:47), Robert Duncton (7:08) and George Duncton (7:31)

Well done to everyone - keep up the good work!

Weekly Challenge

Last week's challenge was to see how far you could run in 15 minutes.

The following people attempted the challenge and recorded distances Sharon Miller 2.525 km (1.4 miles), Adrian Bowden 1.69 miles, Ian Edmonds 3km (1.89 miles), Stephen Smith 2.05 miles, Jake Boud 2.06 miles. Well done to all of you.

Monthly Climbing Challenge

There were some different names on the leaderboard this week - Steve Bass with a massive 3143 metres, Tom Almond with 1295 and Paul Butler with 1289. Charlie Butcher is still ahead of the pack despite Steve's huge effort.
