RPAC had a successful day at the Camberley Open on Sunday 18 November,  winning nine medals in total, three individual ones and six team ones. On an attractive course through the woods and finishing on a very steep hill RPAC fielded sixteen runners across the various age groups.

Ada Heims took individual bronze in the U9 girls, finishing strongly to hold off a fast closing rival. In the U9 boys the team packed well with Callum Hart, George Turner and Oscar Birch, 6, 7 and 9 respectively. Robert Duncton also ran well to finish 11th.

In the U11 girls Jessica Randell ran with great determination to finish third despite being pushed hard all the way up the hill and to the finish. The highlight of the day though was the U11 boys where in a competitive field Max Orchard put in an impressive sprint to snatch second place in the last ten metres. Ollie Burnett and Harry Peters also had good races finishing 7th and 11th respectively to ensure RPAC won the team silver. This race saw our strongest turn out of the day with Will Shortall, Ethan Else, Isaac Beckett and Bertie Morgan all placed well.

In the U13 boys race Joel Lawrence was our sole competitor and had to navigate the hill twice, running strongly to finish 9th. In the U13 girls Alessia Turner ran well to finish 8th and Phoebe Taylor had a good race also.
