A while since I wrote an Update, a lot of what I used to cover is now included in the weekly news article published by Paul Walters and Andrew Bamford. Thanks guys!

However, there are now a few items of long term relevance for all members and parents/guardians, so it's time for me to put pen to paper.

England Athletics Review

Natalie Kavanagh-Clarke has now completed the review and submitted her report to us. The Committee met with her in September to discuss the report and to develop a set of detailed actions. As soon as we have finalised our draft of these actions, including delivery dates, we will share these with the entire membership. There will then be an opportunity for everyone to provide feedback, to ensure that the actions are consistent with the requirements of the entire club, not just the committee.

One action we are taking immediately is to review our vision of what the club should be. I am not expecting a massive change to the vision that already has been published on the website and in the 2014-19 Development Plan, but an outcome from the review is that we need to be clearer about the aims of the club and who we cater for. Watch this space for an update on this after our committee meeting on Wednesday (9th October).

I would like to emphasise that any actions we take will be to further improve the club, so that it meets the needs and goals of ALL our members - we are already doing well, Jas (Dhanda, Membership Secretary) has this week processed 28 new membership applications (3 Seniors, 3 Juniors and 22 Junior Academy). Welcome to all our new members, I hope to meet as many of you as possible at some point.

Priory Relays Sponsor

I am delighted to be able to announce that we have a new sponsor for the Priory Relays in 2019: Nutraceuticals Group Europe. Nutraceuticals are a local company based in Merstham, who specialise in nutritional and health ingredients and are recognised by many as the experts in this field.

We look forward to working with them at the Priory Relays this year, and to a mutually beneficial partnership.

I would also like to take the opportunity to thank our previous sponsors, Thurlowe Clarke, for their support of the Relays over the years, Thurlowe Clarke will continue to support our Summer Evening 10k in 2020.

Awards Evening 2019 - A date for your diaries

Advanced notice that the Awards Evening, at which we will present the 2019 Awards for both Juniors and Seniors, has been booked for the evening of Saturday 18th January 2020. The venue is a new one for the club: Reigate Priory Cricket Club.

The plan is to ensure that the evening caters for both juniors and seniors, exact details will follow closer to the date.
